Dear pilots!

For a long time, we have intentionally not commented on the development of the current COVID-19/Coronavirus crisis. We have believed, that offline and online media are dominating the daily news to such an extent, that our additional input is not necessary at all.

As this crisis spreads accross the world and some pilots have asked about our virtual operational response to that, the Board of Directors has internally discussed options on how to react and we have taken a decision. Daily public life is and will be restricted more and more and we do not know, how long this situation will last. In these times, we are happy to have a hobby, which can be engaged from home and without any physical social contact. While many other hobbys cannot be engaged in that way and as we fully support the #stayathome initiative in order to reduce the fast spread of the Coronavirus, we have decided to not follow our aspiration to reality in that particular case. This means, that all our flights will be offered without any operational limitations. Furthermore, from now own, your are earning double miles on every flight!

So follow us on taking over social responsibility - especially to the older ones and our fellow citizens with pre-existing condition - and stay at home for some time.

Liebe Piloten,

lange Zeit haben wir uns ganz absichtlich nicht zu den Entwicklungen der aktuellen COVID-19/Coronavirus Krise geäußert. Wir waren der Meinung, dass die Medien das Thema in solch einer Art und Weise dominieren, dass unsere zusätzliche Meinung hier nicht notwendig ist.

Da diese Krise unsere Welt aber mittlerweile stark im Griff hat und einige Piloten nach unserer virtuellen, operativen Antwort gefragt haben, hat das Board of Directors dieses Thema nochmals intern intensiv diskutiert und ist zu einer Entscheidung gekommen. Das tägliche, öffentliche Leben ist bereits eingeschränkt und wird voraussichtlich noch weiter restriktiert. Wir wissen auch nicht, wie lange diese Situation anhält. In diesen Zeiten schätzen wir es, ein Hobby zu haben, das von zu Hause und ohne physischen sozialen Kontakt betrieben werden kann, das trifft nicht für viele Hobbys zu. Da wir die Initiative #stayathome voll unterstützen, um eine weitere, schnelle Ausbreitung des Coronavirus zu verhindern, haben wir uns dazu entschieden, in diesem speziellen Fall nicht nach möglichst hoher Realitätsnähe zu streben. Das bedeutet, dass alle unsere Flüge ohne Einschränkungen stattfinden. Außerdem vergeben wir ab sofort auf allen Flügen doppelte Meilen!

Wir freuen uns, wenn auch Du soziale Verantwortung übernimmst - insbesondere zum Schutz älterer und vorbelasteter Mitbürger - und für einige Zeit zu Hause bleibst.
